Camp Improvements Update. In early July, a contractor, an engineer, and a county inspector spent a day on the YD property looking for possible solutions to installing restrooms for the girls’ and boys’ camps. Many test holes were dug, and each time the inspector shook his head. Meanwhile, many prayers were being offered. When it seemed totally impossible, suitable sites were found for both camps! Almost all county and tribal approvals have now been obtained, and officials have been helpful and supportive. Plans have been drawn, and work can begin as soon as funds are available. Please keep this project in your prayers.
Camp Tents. Last summer's YD campers and staff raised funds to purchase new tents for the YD campers. Two big, sturdy wall tents have now been recieved, each large enough to accommodate an entire unit. Two red and white "bell tents" are in the process of being manufactured, and a tipi is also in the plans. We hope to eventually be able to replace all the current tents.
New Baby! On November 14, Tony and Sylvia Evert welcomed Bethany Elizabeth into their family. Both baby and mother are doing well. Sylvia is a former YD staff member, and Tony currently serves YD as IT and Design Director.
Congratulations to Jessica Pendleton for completing her 4-year degree in Accounting. She accomplished this while keeping up with her job, and we are very proud of her. We praise God for helping her through this strenuous process—and for bringing her to YD.
Weddings! On August 12, Melissa McLeod married Daniel Mundall in Lytton, British Columbia. Melissa served for a number of months as YD's editorial assistant, and Daniel has served as a YD Camp counselor. On August 19, YD staff member Cheyenne Francis united her life with Casey Reiswig in an outdoor ceremony in Glacier Park. Cheyenne served as YD's Assistant Editor for a number of years, and Casey has been a YD Camp counselor and Mission Experience staff member.
Back on Staffl! After taking time out to pursue a course in midwifery, Cheyenne Francis Reiswig is back on staff as Assistant Editor. Even while she was away, Cheyenne still helped out with various writing projects as well as with proofreading. Still, it’s very good to have her back in the office.
Missionaries! Emily Heagy first joined the YD team as an editorial intern in 2007. The following year, she did an internship in layout and design, and then joined the YD team as a full-time staff member, eventually becoming the magazine designer. She was a part of several YD Mission Experiences, and developed a real heart for missions. In September she set off for Cambodia, where she is a volunteer teacher at Wat Preah Yesu School. In October 2013, Seth Greve joined the YD team as a layout and design intern. After completing his internship, he decided to further his education as a student at Matteson Mission School in Norway. As part of his year-long course, he is spending time as a student missionary in Honduras. Please pray for Emily and Seth on their adventures for Christ.

YD Camp Improvement Project!
As the camp has enlarged, there has been an ever-increasing need to upgrade camp shower and toilet facilities. However, due to soil conditions and other issues, every attempt to gain the needed permits resulted in disappointment. Only recently has a practical solution been found for installing septic systems.
